Vindication In The World of DK Island

By LUDWIG VON KOOPA - We're on the right side of history. Again.

Go look at this massive Official Nintendo Magazine exposé on Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze if you haven't already. This article will deal with specifically these three bullet-points:
  • "It says that most levels take around 10 minutes to complete on your first attempt.
  • There are three secret levels per world.
  • Retro was working on Mario Kart 7, and TF at the same time."
To see why this is of particular interest to KoopaTV, reread this earlier article. That article was met with opposition by the fascists over at NeoGAF who deemed it "baseless speculation". With one exception, any speculation or viewpoint expressed on KoopaTV has turned out to be correct. (That isn't counting speculations during reaction logs.)

Let's look at bullet point number one. I claimed that each individual level in Tropical Freeze will have more content than the counterpart level in Returns. Returns levels don't take 10 minutes to complete on your first attempt. So that was spot-on.

A big part of my article on Tropical Freeze was that we don't know how many levels there will be, and at this point in the release schedule of Returns we thought there would be a lot less fewer levels than there actually were. If there are actually THREE secret levels per world, then the six-seven levels per world count has a whole new meaning. That puts it much more in line with Returns and its seven-to-ten levels per world count.

As for the idea that Tropical Freeze is a mere side project for the actual real project, a hypothetical "Metroid Prime 4", now it's clear that Retro Studios wasn't doing that and my "not a chance" statement was completely accurate. They WERE working on another simultaneous project. It's just that Tropical Freeze is the main one and Mario Kart 7 was the side one!

But as I also wrote earlier, we need to be a big supportive Nintendo community. I still maintain that. So that's to all the comments in the comments section for the site I linked. Anyway, I just wanted to point out that all of the opposition to my article and Tropical Freeze continues to be, and has always been, fueled by hatred and jealousy — and not rational thought. Speaking of which, that "right side of history again" thing in the sub-title refers to things like the controversies I listed in this article. It feels good to be right. ...And it also feels good to be Wright.

Here's another thing to get right: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze will be a fantastic game, and everyone reading this should own a Wii U. It would be Wise to do so.

Ludwig owns a Wii U! Just look at his profile on Miiverse at NNID PrinceOfKoopas for proof of that!
